Jose Mata
Born and raised in Houston, this city has always been my home—and defending its people is my calling. As the child of two South American immigrants, I’ve witnessed firsthand the challenges individuals face when confronted with unfair treatment in the justice system.

After pursuing a finance degree from Sam Houston State University, I spent time building my family before receiving my law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1994- the same year I welcomed my first child and son. After welcoming a daughter several years later, my life has been centered around my legal career and making memories with my family.
I’ve committed my career to making sure that every person in Harris Montgomery county receives fair representation and is treated justly under the law!
